Kasca exists because that gap needed to be filled properly.

From a missing tool to building one
OUR STORY
Four years into the role of a system engineer at a Swiss stock exchange, the annual internal audit brought a question I had honestly not spent much time thinking about: how do we back up and restore our Entra ID environment?
My first instinct was — do we even need to? It's the cloud. Someone else handles that.
But then you start thinking about what actually lives there. Users, groups, applications, devices, conditional access policies, role assignments. Objects that took years to configure. And you realize — most of the time nothing goes wrong. But scripts fail. People make mistakes. Someone deletes the wrong object, or runs a bulk operation against the wrong group. It doesn't happen often until it does.
We had scripts to cover the basics. They were fragile, painful to maintain, and when it came to actual recovery, they brought back just enough to remind you how much was missing.
So we went looking for something better — and found a market full of SaaS solutions storing your data on their infrastructure, and one serious on-premises alternative priced for organizations ten times our size. Neither was the answer.
That's when it became clear: the right tool didn't exist yet.

WHERE WE'RE GOING
Identity infrastructure is rarely just one platform. We started with Entra ID because that is where the pain was most familiar — but the problem is bigger than one provider. Our goal is to cover the full spectrum of cloud identity platforms, giving organizations a single, consistent backup solution regardless of where their identities live.
AI has a place in modern software development — and we use it. But when it comes to building software that organizations depend on in critical moments, there is no substitute for human expertise, judgement, and accountability.

We are a small, focused team — Roman based in Prague in the heart of the EU, and Patrik, our developer and CTO, based in Switzerland. One foot inside the European regulatory landscape, one foot in one of the world's most respected jurisdictions for privacy, security, and compliance. Between us, we bring a firsthand understanding of what regulated environments on both sides actually demand. When you reach out, you reach the people who built the product — no intermediaries, no hand-offs, no support queue. Day or night.
