Roles & Permissions

Role assignments and privileged access configurations are the backbone of your security model. They define who can do what across your entire environment — and a single misconfiguration or accidental change can have consequences that are difficult to trace and even harder to reverse.

What Kasca backs up

Kasca captures a full snapshot of your role assignments and privileged access configurations, including both standard role assignments and Privileged Identity Management assignments where available. This gives you a complete record of who held what access at any point in time.

Why this matters

Role changes are among the most sensitive operations in any identity environment. An accidental removal of a critical role assignment can lock administrators out of key systems. An unintended privilege escalation can go unnoticed until it becomes a security incident. Without a backup, understanding what the configuration looked like before a change — and restoring it — requires significant manual effort and often incomplete information.

This is also a common area of focus during security audits. Being able to demonstrate exactly who had access to what, and when, is a question that organizations increasingly need to answer with confidence.

Restoring with Kasca

When a role assignment needs to be restored, Kasca uses your backup data to bring it back into your environment. Restoration is granular — you can recover a specific assignment without affecting the rest of your configuration. Combined with log backup, you also have a full audit trail of when assignments were made, modified, or removed.
